Duke of Edinburgh Award
We are delighted to confirm that SGS will continue to offer the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award programme during this academic year. The Bronze Award provides students with a fantastic opportunity to develop new skills, contribute to their communities, improve their physical fitness, and build confidence through challenge, teamwork and personal achievement.
After careful consideration, we have made the decision to pause the delivery of the Silver and Gold DofE Award programmes.
We are excited that Mrs Parish will be taking on responsibility for leading the Bronze DofE programme. As part of this role, she will be able to support students who have previously enrolled on the Bronze, Silver, or Gold DofE level complete their award. We look forward to seeing the programme continue to provide students with valuable opportunities to develop confidence, resilience and independence as they begin their DofE journey.
Miss Lloyd will be stepping back from leading the DofE programme to continue focusing on her teaching role within the English department. We would like to thank Miss Lloyd for the commitment, care and support she has given to the DofE programme. Her dedication has helped many students develop confidence, independence and resilience through the opportunities and challenges that DofE provides.
We are incredibly proud of the achievements of all students who have taken part in DofE at SGS and remain committed to providing enriching opportunities that enable our young people to develop valuable skills beyond the classroom. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
If you are enrolled with the Duke of Edinburgh award at Skegness Grammar School, please use the link below to log in to your eDofE account to check and update your progress. If you need to be reminded of your username or need your password resetting, please get in contact with Mrs Parish.
Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Expedition
During our Bronze expedition, we presented Miss Hallett with her certificate from The Duke of Edinburgh for her continued dedication to helping run the award at SGS. We are grateful for the endless supports she provides to both students and staff whilst on expedition and are proud that this has been recognised by the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
