Food
Nutrition and fitness are an essential part of everyday life at Skegness Grammar.
Our school holds the ‘Healthy Schools Award’, which recognises that we serve nutritious food choices, as well as enabling young people to make informed decisions about healthy food.

Students sit down to eat together everyday, encouraging the development of formal communication, social skills and positive relationships.
Our various school committees also ensure that the students have a say in food provision.

Breakfast Club
We are delighted to offer a FREE Breakfast provision in school for our children.
The breakfast, provided by the National School Breakfast Programme, Tesco’s and our SGS staff runs from 8am – 8.30am includes FREE bagels with optional butter and jam, tea and coffee. The breakfast club at SGS is held in our canteen, all students are welcome. It is an opportunity for more social time with friends, a chance to watch the TV, catch up on homework or read a book. Please encourage your child to attend.
The National School Breakfast Programme is funded by the Department for Education and run by Family Action to support schools in England to provide children with a healthy breakfast at the start of the school day.
SGS and Family Action are committed to supporting child development, and believe a healthy school breakfast, without barrier or stigma, can set up children to succeed and give them the very best chance to learn.
In a normal school year, schools are open just over half the year (taking into account weekends and school holidays). This means even where breakfast is available within school, children are still having breakfast at home almost 50% of the time. Below you will find tips, ideas, information, recipes, videos and quizzes to make breakfast time an easy part of your morning routine at home.
